About Me

I surrendered my life to Christ as a young child. I grew up in Prescott, Arizona, and was raised in a small church. My family was devoted to the Lord and served in the church faithfully. I'm thankful that my rescue story is not dramatic, but I know that the Lord saved me from many things that could have brought heartache and destruction. Even at a young age, I understood and experienced the transformation that only the Lord can bring to a life that surrenders to Jesus. I knew I was sinful and in need of a Savior. My life naturally followed the Lord because of good discipleship from the scripture by mature and faithful parents and grandparents. I was certainly not perfect through my childhood and teenage years, but as I grew as a young man, I became fully aware that following Jesus is more radical than most people understand. I emerged as a leader among my peers and church and understood that the Lord was calling me to become a Pastor. Although I still needed to understand all the implications of the Lord's claim fully, my journey and preparation began by pursuing and spending time with good leaders and influential Christ followers available to me. From there on, my story is deep and rich, full of joy and hurt, just like everyone I know. God has used all of the journey with my best interest in mind and glorified Himself simultaneously. I'm not sure I can explain that clearly enough most of the time, but He continues to refine me with struggles, trials, and the sweet and good things in life. I am an entirely devoted follower of Jesus and have sworn allegiance to the King!

My Family

My wife Linda and I have Two kids, Kambria and Mitchell. Kambria is married to her husband Eric and they share four boys. They live in Orange County CA and enjoy taking the boys to the beach as often as possible. Mitchell is married to Becca and they share a beautiful daughter. Mitch is in the military and is currently training in Georgia for a new role in military intelligence.

My Beliefs

The Bible is the highest doctrinal authority for me and the church.

  • I believe there is only one true God, who eternally exists as a Trinity of equally divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(1) Each member of the Trinity thinks, acts, feels, speaks, and relates because each is a person and not an impersonal force. Each member of the Trinity is equally God, sharing all the divine attributes.

  • God reveals Himself to everyone everywhere through general revelation. It is only by special revelation that anyone comes to a saving knowledge of God. God has supremely revealed Himself through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and his incarnate Word. All of the divinely Holy Spirit-inspired, inerrant, authoritative sixty-six canonical books of the Bible reveal Jesus Christ.

  • God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing and lovingly prepared them as a home to worship and enjoy Him. Everything in creation and history depends on God and is only good when functioning according to his intentions. God, the author and subject of history, will bring history to an end and create a new heaven and a new earth.

  • God created the first human beings, Adam and Eve, as male and female, equal in dignity, value, and worth, to mirror and reflect God as an act of worship and obedience. Human beings, as God’s sole image bearers, are under God and over lower creation, not to be pulled up like gods or pushed down like animals. Human life begins at conception, and an unborn baby is an image-bearer of God. God created marriage solely for one man and one woman and created sex only for married couples. Because God created human life and marriage, I value the sanctity of life and godly marriage.

  • God makes and keeps His covenant promises. God’s covenants reveal his loving grace and mercy because although people deserve nothing but condemnation, God gives gracious, covenantal salvation.

  • I believe the eternal Son of God and second person of the Trinity became flesh, adding humanity to His divinity, and entered into human history as the God-Man, Jesus Christ. Jesus alone is one person with two natures: God and man. Jesus Christ is the Word, or Logos, of God because he is the personal, eternally existing Creator of the universe, distinct from, yet equal with, the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem to redeem sinful man as the only mediator between God and man.

  • I believe Jesus Christ lived a perfectly righteous and sinless life, died in the place of sinners, fully absorbing the wrath of God, paying the just penalty for their sins, and reconciling them to God. As our substitute on the cross, Jesus Christ suffered and died in our place to forgive us, love us, cleanse us, and embrace us as the punishment for our sins was diverted from us to Jesus. After dying on the cross, Jesus arose bodily from the grave on the third day, appearing to many witnesses and proving that he was physically alive. Through faith, we are united with the risen Christ, raised with Christ, and granted the same Holy Spirit power that raised Christ.

  • The local church is a community of regenerated believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and swear allegiance to him as King. The universal church is comprised of all God’s people in all times and places.
